Paklenica National Park
Paklenica National Park – the Wild Beauty of Velebit
Hiking
Marked trails lead through the canyons of Velika and Mala Paklenica, offering impressive views and the cool shade of forests where visitors can refresh themselves during hot summer days. In some places, it is also possible to drink fresh spring water. Wearing appropriate sports footwear and carrying a fully charged mobile phone is recommended.
Climbing or Simply Walking in Nature
Paklenica is one of the most famous climbing destinations in Europe, with more than 500 routes. Anića Kuk, the largest rock face in the park, is an unmissable challenge for climbers from all over the world.
Underground City
The park also hides unique underground attractions. A system of tunnels and rooms that once served military purposes is now open to visitors.
Mountain Hut
In the center of the park, about a 1.5-hour walk away, there is a mountain hut—an ideal place to rest and enjoy a meal after demanding trails, offering homemade food and refreshments.
Wildlife
Paklenica is home to a wide variety of plants and animals, and every visit offers an authentic experience of Velebit’s wilderness.
You can also enjoy a relaxed tourist walk through the park (with suitable footwear!) and cool off during hot summer days.
Paklenica is a perfect blend of adventure, nature, and refreshment in the heart of the mountain.
